Long Holiday = Dumber?

Long Holiday....
Everyone loves it... Everyone is dying to have it....

Based on my little observation, holidays are usually filled with entertaining things and relaxing activities. In a long holiday, most of the people tend to go travelling to other countries in order to shopping (for the rich offcourse), adventuring, or other purposes. Besides that, most of people my age fill the holiday by catching up with the old friends from elementary, junior, or high school. The 'catching up' mostly consists of the activities of talking over coffees for a long duration in a cafe inside or outside a mall, do some sports like swimming, adventuring to the places which are car-riding-distance like Bandung, Anyer, etc. together, or attending parties, and else. Me personally agree on allocating our times towards those activities due to the need of not losing contact with our friends and acquaintances, but it is a very nice thing to do if we also can do more useful activities rather than just having fun. For your information, I envy those who have the experiences of travelling in every long holidays, because there are many new things to see, learn, shop (oops... hehe), and have fun with.

As human beings, we can try to fill our brain in the long holiday with many activities. Firstly, we can try to work or simply find a part-time job through our connection, also could be from our friends' and parents'. In spite of the fact that part time jobs in Jakarta are less rather than in foreign countries, I have a solution for that. The soultion is courses.

If you are initiative enough to search and ask, there are various skills that we can learn from instant courses in our long holiday. For now, I am really interested in learning how to cook. Basically cooking any kinds of food. My interest here is motivated by the fact that insyaAllah next year I'm going to live abroad by myself and to tell you the truth, I really have no idea how to cook, the real cooking, eventhough I use to have the highest score in PKK back in junior-high HAHAHA.

At the end, I would like to conclude that long holiday can make us dumber if we are not loaded it with valuable doings. But I believe that long holiday also can make us smarter in many ways.

Assalammualaikum.
